Cartwright Pool Plaza
Initially employed as an expert advisor to resolve a dispute between the client and previous builder, AMPM consulted residents groups, the body corporate and previously employed designers to draw together all relevant information and ensure an outcome that met all stakeholders' needs.
AMPM's commission was subsequently extended to include project management of the design and construction works.
Faced with structural problems which included a potentially unstable bank on adjacent council property, a limited pool surround area, and a lack of privacy, AMPM developed a creative solution. This involved putting the edge footing beam above the concrete slab, where it could also function as the balustrade wall. In turn, this allowed the slab to cantilever, maximised the surround area, and avoiding the need to stabilise the council's bank.
